EU in Honduras participated in the first Congress of Latin American and Caribbean youths

The HoD of the EUDel to Honduras, Jaume Segura, was invited to the inauguration of the first congress of the National Youth Councils of Latin American and Caribbean countries.  The Honduran National Youth Council, an inter-institutional civil society organization that was created with the support of the European Union, organized this congress.

The EU, with the aim of contributing to the creation of participatory spaces for youth to have greater participation and influence on political, economic, social, scientific and cultural issues, supported, in 2022, the creation of the Honduran National Youth Council. Youth from over 65 civil society organizations are now part of this Council.

The Congress was attended by young people from Honduras, Colombia, Panama, Brazil, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. During the inauguration of the Congress, the Head of Delegation expressed the European Union's commitment to empower and give voice to the youth of the world and make them the center of actions for sustainable development, peace and equality.
