Iceland has been associated with the European Union research and innovation programmes for nearly 30 years and its participation is one of the big success stories of the overall relationship between the EU and Iceland. During the Iceland Innovation Week, the EU Delegation to Iceland invited four successful organizations, Kerecis, Matís, Nanom and ORF Genetics to talk about their projects, and their journey which benefited from EU funding. The speakers were Fertram Sigurjónsson – Founder, President and CEO of Kerecis, Birgir Örn Smárason – Research Group Leader of Sustainability and Aquaculture at Matís, Stuart Bronson – Co-founder and CFO of Nanom and Björn Örvar – CSO and EVP of Business Development at ORF Genetics. The event was concluded with a Q & A moderated by the Ambassador of the European Union to Iceland, Lucie Samcová Hall-Allen.
