Four Years On: Our Commitment to Ukraine Remains Unshakable

Yesterday marked four years since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine—a conflict defined by targeted attacks on civilians, the weaponization of winter, and the persistent dismissal of peace.

In Reykjavík, the EU Ambassador and Heads of Missions of EU Member States joined the Ambassador of Ukraine to Iceland to reaffirm a singular, united message: We stand with Ukraine.

Our shared position remains clear:

  • Sovereignty: Ukraine’s territorial integrity is non-negotiable.
  • A Just Peace: Any resolution must be grounded in international law and the UN Charter, with Ukraine leading the dialogue.
  • Justice: Accountability for war crimes and robust security guarantees are essential for a stable future.
  • Integration: Ukraine’s path toward the EU is a shared and certain commitment.

Four years of war have only strengthened four years of European solidarity. Our support does not falter.
