Ms. Þórhildur Kristbjörnsdóttir holds a Master's degree from Leiden University in International Relations with a specialisation in conflict studies. During her studies, she researched the topics of geopolitics and the international dimension of authoritarian politics. 

Before heading to the Netherlands, Ms Kristbjörnsdóttir pursued a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Iceland with an exchange year in Trondheim, Norway. Alongside the studies, she was a member of the editorial board of the paper "Íslenska leiðin" (Now "Póllinn") published by Politica - the Student Association of Political Science Students at the Univ. of Iceland.
