Reykjavík Feminist Film Festival panel 2022

Despite the significant advances on equality in Europe, women in public life may still face specific challenges. On Sunday the 8th of May, we held a panel discussion in Bíó Paradís, in collaboration with the RVK Feminist Film Festival, entitled, “Running with an invisible backpack: Women in public life”.

The four speaks at the event, sitting down on the sofa and discussing the topic at hand.

Despite the significant advances on gender equality in Europe, women in public life may still face specific challenges. On Sunday the 8th of May, the EU Delegation to Iceland held a panel discussion in Bíó Paradís, in collaboration with RVK Feminist Film Festival, entitled, “Running with an invisible backpack: Women in public life”. The panel was a part of the third edition of the Reykjavík Feminist Film Festival – an event whose aim is to improve gender representation in the film industry, and support gender equality more broadly. Lucie Samcová-Hall Allen, the Ambassador of the European Union to Iceland, moderated the discussion. The keynote speakers were Aud Lise Norheim, the Ambassador of Norway to Iceland; Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir, Chair of the board, Reykjavík Global Forum & Senior Advisor on Women‘s Leadership, UN Women; and Lilja Sigurðardóttir, writer, Playwright & Activist.
