Vísindavaka 2026 - European Researcher's Night 2026
Vísindavaka is part of European Researchers' Night in Iceland Scientists in multiple cities all around Europe are presenting their research to the public in an interactive and fun way, especially for the younger generation.
This year we also celebrate 30 years of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, an EU flagship program, which proudly funds this year’s Vísindavaka! The variety of EU-funded research projects was wonderful to see, and a great opportunity for our delegation to meet and speak to the researchers.
Vísindavaka and European Researcher’s Night share a common goal: to bring science closer to the public, encourage science communication, and create a direct dialogue between researchers and society. The EU Ambassador spoke alongside the Minister of Culture, Innovation and Higher Education, Logi Einarsson, and Director General of Rannís Ágúst Ingþórsson.
