Cooperation between the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, National Institute of Wind Energy, European Union and Denmark on the Centre of Excellence on Offshore Wind and Renewable Energy

Phase II: India Danish Energy Partnership

Phase III: EU-India Clean Energy and Climate Partnership

The launch of India’s first Off-Shore Wind tender confirms India’s strong ambition to deploy new renewable energy generation capacities on the way to becoming climate neutral by 2070. Continuing its long-standing institutionalized cooperation in the renewable sector with the Indian Government, the European Union and Denmark strongly support India’s efforts in the framework of the Off-Shore Wind development agenda.

Based on the objectives and principles of the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy, the India-Denmark Energy Partnership, and the India-EU Clean Energy and Climate Partnership, the partners express their intention to further develop the Centre of Excellence on Off-Shore Wind and Renewable Energy, supported by the Danish Energy Agency and currently hosted in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of India. Further cooperation, involving Team Europe partners as of 2025, will bring to the project - as well as to other initiatives in the Off-Shore Wind sector - European Union Member States’ expertise, best practices, technologies, financial models, certifications and standards.
