Press and Information Officer

The European Union (EU) is an economic and political partnership between 27 European countries. It plays an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organisations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.

The EU Delegation to India works closely with the Indian government to promote peace, create jobs, boost economic growth and enhance sustainable development across the country.

We offer

We offer a post of Press and Information Officer. Under this post, the recruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the Delegation. Upon recruitment, the successful candidate will occupy a specific job function as Press and Information Officer – this job function may be changed in accordance with the needs of the Delegation. Under this job function the successful candidate will serve as technical and support staff in the Press and Information Office under the supervision of the Deputy Head of Delegation, within the overall responsibility of the Head of Delegation. 

The contract will be an indefinite contract.

Working hours – 09:00 to 17:30 (7.5 hrs/day; 37.5 hrs/week),

Place of employment – New Delhi

Group – I and starting basic salary – INR 1,88,611.00

Selection Criteria

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Medically fit to perform the required duties;
  2. Enjoys civil rights and permits for employment under local law;
  3. Has excellent knowledge of English and Hindi;
  4. Computer Skills
  5. Minimum 10 years' working experience;

The following will be considered an asset:

  1. Knowledge of French or one European language
  2. Web designing, html/coding skills
  3. Working experience in an Embassy or international organisation environment
  4. Time management and monitoring of work
  5. Teamwork skills

The procedure

All the applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee set up for this purpose. The Selection Committee will prepare a short-list of candidates who are considered to be the most suitable for the post on the basis of a preliminary assessment of the information provided in their application and the supporting documents. The short-listed candidates will be invited to an assessment phase, which may include a written test and an interview based on the result of the test to assess the suitability of the candidates for the post.

Candidates who have not been short-listed will not be contacted individually; however, the Delegation will use the same means of publication as for this Vacancy Notice to inform the remaining candidates once the recruitment procedure has been completed and that a candidate has (or has not) been recruited.
