Bringing home citizens from Indonesia: a truly European response

The EU Delegation to Indonesia and the embassies of the EU Member states in Jakarta have been working together on responding to the very acute problem of the thousands of European tourists stranded in the country, especially in Bali.

 

The EU Delegation to Indonesia supported the repatriation flights organized by several Member States to get citizens back home. In total, 15 flights have departed over the past 8 days organised by Lithuania, Austria, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, and Czech Republic.

All in all, almost 6,000 European citizens managed to get back to Europe, with a focus on the elderly, the sick and families with children.
