Today, the Delegation of the European Union to Indonesia (EU) launched its annual competition for written journalism ‘EU4Wartawan’. This year the competition, held in collaboration with the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) and the TIFA Foundation, focuses on the impact of digital technology on human rights. Held for the third time, EU4Wartawan aims to recognise high quality written journalism about human rights.

EU Ambassador to Indonesia Vincent Piket said: “Under pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of digital technology has expanded more widely and faster. Technology has become even more inseparable from our daily lives, offering powerful tools and solutions. But there are also downsides, and some technological applications raise concerns about their impact on basic human rights."
