Building Resilience and Empowering Communities towards Durable Solutions
In cooperation with the European Union, NRC and DRC are working towards alleviating obstacles to sustainable returns for conflict-affected individuals and support them to recover dignity and resilience in the face of adversity.
Ninewa, Dyiala and Salah Al Din have been some of the governorates most affected by the IDP crisis, and have seen the highest numbers of returns since 2017. With damaged key infrastructures, weakened social systems and a scarcity of both governmental and humanitarian service provision, the strain on communities is further impacting social cohesion, already severely affected by the crisis’ resulting ethno-religious tensions.
The project aims to:
Supporting equitable access to assistance, protection and durable solutions for displacement-affected populations
Supporting the development of Small, Medium Enterprises (SME)
