The EU Delegation in Iraq hosted a high-level event on climate change on Sunday 29 October 2023. The event brought together government officials, civil society organizations, youth and the private sector to discuss the current environmental situation in Iraq, the challenges and opportunities posed by climate change, and the way forward.

The event aimed to highlight the economic opportunities for Iraq and advocates for its commitments at COP28. The EU is committed to supporting Iraq in its efforts to combat climate change.

We are working with the Iraqi government to develop a green economy and raise public awareness on climate change.
