We are sad to announce that our former Head of Delegation Ambassador Lars Faaborg-Andersen has passed away on 2 June 2021, while serving as the Danish Ambassador to Portugal. After an important career in the Danish Foreign Service, Lars joined the European External Action Service to serve as the EU Ambassador to Israel from 2013 – 2017, and devoted all his energies to promote EU-Israel relations. Lars was a talented diplomat who represented the EU's interests and values with great dedication and professionalism.

The Delegation staff sends our deepest condolences to his wife Jean Marie Murphy and children Christian and Sophie. We are really sorry for their loss.
