Launched by the Council of Europe in 2001 to encourage language-learning, the European Day of Languages (EDL) is an annual event celebrated globally.

It aims to raise awareness of the importance of languages, to bring different cultures together and to show how knowledge of multiple languages increases intercultural understanding.

Many activities and events featuring Drama, music, stories, quizzes, interactive games and free language courses.

5 European cultural/language centers: British Council Jordan, Institut Français de Jordanie, Instituto Cervantes de Amán, Goethe-Institut Jordanien and Dante Amman.

8 European Embassies: Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Romania and Spain.

Guest country: Turkey

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. = Students between 12 and 17

From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. = Students between 18 and above
