Horizon Europe Africa Initiative 2 Programme

The Horizon Europe facilitates collaboration and strengthens the impact of research and innovation in developing, supporting and implementing EU policies while tackling global challenges.

On 24 January, Ambassador Henriette Geiger joined representatives from the EU Commission, Euraxess Africa, Ministry of Education and others in exploring the opportunities available for Kenyan research institutions and universities under the Horizon Europe Africa Initiative 2 Programme. Noting the impressive success rate by Kenyan applicants in the previous year, she encouraged interested stakeholders to take advantage of the opportunities presented in the 2023-2024 Programme.

The Horizon Europe is a research and innovation programme implemented by the European Commission under the Global Gateway Initiative. The programme facilitates collaboration and strengthens the impact of research and innovation in developing, supporting and implementing EU policies while tackling global challenges. It supports creating and better dispersing of excellent knowledge and technologies. It creates jobs, fully engages the EU’s talent pool, boosts economic growth, promotes industrial competitiveness and optimises investment impact within a strengthened European Research Area. The next regional training will take place on 1 February 2024.
