EU Ambassador H.E Henriette Geiger joined the celebrations of International Human Rights Day in Kenya organised by the Kenyan National Human Rights Commission (KNHRC) and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) at the University of Nairobi.

“This year’s celebrations focus on Equality and how we jointly can make contributions to making Kenya a better world to those that are struggling on a daily basis to provide for their children, siblings and other vulnerable in their family. We cannot close our eyes to the vulnerable people we see every day around us – they are many and their suffering does not go away just because we pretend not to see them. Taking a moment to stop up and do a small act of paying respect, look a person in the eyes and support them in a small or bigger way goes a very long way,” said Ambassador Geiger
