EU-GCC Business Forum inaugurated by HH the Prime Minister of Kuwait
The 9th EU-GCC Business Forum ‘Together for Shared Prosperity’ convened on 5-6 November at Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre in Kuwait. It was organised in collaboration with Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority. This high-level joint event included senior policymakers, business leaders, investors and entrepreneurs from both the EU and GCC to foster dialogue and build partnerships that support economic diversification and sustainable growth. The official opening of the forum was under the patronage of HH the Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Al Abdullah Al Sabah.
The EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Mr. Maroš Šefčovič visited Kuwait and delivered a keynote speech at the opening of the business forum. Vice-President of the European Investment Bank Mr. Ioannis Tsakiris and EU Special Representative for the Gulf Mr. Luigi Di Maio also joined the Business Forum as high-level speakers.
The networking sessions at the Business Forum with distinguished panellists from the EU and the GCC focused on trade and investment, digital economy, AI and innovation, SMEs and skills development, empowering entrepreneurs and youth, with additional emphasis on cooperation in vital sectors such as tourism, cleantech, healthcare, food security, education and creative industries. There was also an exhibition at the forum with wide participation from EUMS and with the attendance of more than 600 guests.
