EU Film Festival “Stories Without Borders” Successfully Concludes in Osh

The European Film Festival "Stories Without Borders" concluded successfully after three days of cultural exchange, drawing a full house to the "Semetey" Cinema and Osh State University (OshSU). The event, organized by the Delegation of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Osh and OshSU, took place from October 25 to 27.

The festival was officially opened on October 25 by the Ambassador of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Rémi Duflot, alongside the Mayor of Osh City and the Rector of OshSU. The opening was marked by a welcome reception and the screening of the animated adventure film "Flow" (Latvia, France, Belgium), which sparked an engaging Q&A session with the audience.

Over the course of the festival, audiences enjoyed a diverse program that brought together European and local cinema. Highlights included the French drama "Skies of Lebanon," the German music and dance drama "Into the Beat," the Hungarian historical drama "Semmelweis," and the EU-supported Kyrgyz short film "Kochmondor oyundary" (Traditional Games).

The festival culminated on October 27 at OshSU. The final day featured a dedicated screening for medical students, a musical performance by a Slovenian pianist performing film scores, and an open dialogue with Ambassador Duflot. During the grand closing ceremony, active participants were awarded, and organizers debriefed the event.

The "Stories Without Borders" festival proved to be a vibrant space for dialogue, celebrating shared human values and demonstrating the power of art to unite cultures.
