EU Sanctions Training Workshops conducted in Bishkek

On 8-9 June 2026, the European Union (EU) organised training workshops in Kyrgyzstan on EU sanctions, with the participation of experts from the European Commission, as well as from EU private businesses.

The primary aim of the workshops was to raise awareness of EU sanctions and their application, and to prevent possible circumvention of these measures. The training was a follow up to the first such activity organised in Bishkek back in 2023.

The meeting on the first day gathered government officials. The workshop on the second day was targeted to Kyrgyz private operators interested in improving their awareness of EU sanctions.

The training workshops were conducted by a team of EU representatives and sanctions experts and consisted of presentations and interactive questions and answers sessions.

The event was organised with the support from the EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC).
