Track Your Steps. Move for a Greener Future. Win EU Prizes! 

To celebrate EU Green Diplomacy Week 2026, we invite people across Laos to lace up, get moving, and join the Green Steps Challenge, a fun and active campaign promoting a healthier lifestyle while encouraging action against plastic pollution and supporting a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.

Whether you prefer running or walking, you can take part from anywhere in Laos. Move at your own pace, in your own place, and make every kilometre count!

How the Challenge Works:

1. Run or Walk & Record Your Activity

  • The challenge is open to everyone in Laos.
  • Participants can run or walk any distance, at any location in Laos during the campaign period, from 5 to 11 October 2026.
  • All activities must be recorded using the Strava application.
  • Each Strava activity must clearly display the participant's name, distance, time, and date.
  • Participants can accumulate their total distance throughout the campaign period.
  • To qualify for the 30 km lucky draw prizes, participants must complete a combined total of at least 30 km between 5 and 11 October 2026.

2. Make Your Steps Count for a Greener Laos

Every kilometre is a small step towards a healthier lifestyle and a cleaner environment.

While you run or walk, we encourage you to think about how everyday choices, including reducing single-use plastics, reusing what we can, and keeping our communities clean, can contribute to a more sustainable Laos.

3. Share Your Challenge Journey

Participants who share their challenge experience and use the campaign hashtag will be eligible for an additional lucky draw for a running outfit.

Awarded to the participant with the highest eligible total distance recorded during the campaign period.

  • 2nd Prize — Running Outfit + EU Goodies

Awarded to the participant with the second-highest eligible total distance recorded during the campaign period.

  • Fitbit Lucky Draw

One Fitbit will be awarded through a lucky draw among participants who have accumulated at least 30 km during the campaign period.

  • Running Outfit Lucky Draw

One running outfit will be awarded through a lucky draw among eligible participants who share their Green Steps Challenge experience on Facebook using the campaign hashtag.

How Distance Is Counted:

Your total eligible distance will be calculated based on running and walking activities recorded on Strava between 5 and 11 October 2026.

Participants may complete their distance over multiple activities during the campaign period. Only activities that meet the challenge requirements and can be verified through Strava will be counted.
