Minister of Education and Sports encourages Lao students to get scholarships to study in Europe

The Study in Europe Fair has been organised by the European Union Delegation to Lao PDR, in collaboration with Team Europe Partners (France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, and Luxembourg), the Department of Higher Education from the Ministry of Education and Sports, and the National University of Laos as well as universities in the provinces through a Facebook Live.

The objective of the event was to promote European study programs, including Erasmus+ (EU scholarships), DAAD (German scholarships), French scholarships through Campus France, Stipendium Hungaricum (Hungarian scholarships), and several programmes from Italy and Luxembourg. These European scholarships offer Lao students, teachers, and researchers to experience higher education in Europe.

Education is more than an individual journey - it’s the foundation for a strong, vibrant future for Lao youth and, in turn, for Laos itself. Through the EU Global Gateway initiative, the Team Europe is committed to investing in education and skills development that empower young people to become leaders, innovators, and contributors to their communities and beyond.”, shared by H.E. Mark Gallagher, European Union Ambassador to Lao PDR.

The highlight of the event was the Alumni Corner session where attendees enjoyed one-on-one interactions with Lao alumni who previously studied in Europe. Interactive activities were also available throughout the day. The event was successfully conducted, with many participants expressing their interest to apply for a scholarship in Europe, which many programmes are opening for their applications now until the first quarter of 2025.
