The Third European Film and Food Festival 2023 in Lao PDR
The Third European Film and Food Festival launched with a success in Vientiane Centre on December 8-10, was organised in collaboration between European Union in Laos and the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, along with the involvement of diplomatic representations from 16 European countries.
The festival aimed to showcase the diverse cultures and cuisine of European nations, utilising cinema to share the European experience and fostering cultural cooperation between Europe and Lao PDR.
Almost 1,000 attendee enjoyed 14 European films, supported by Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine. Films were presented in their original languages, accompanied by Lao and English subtitles, including fiction, documentaries, and cartoons for children. All screenings were open to the public free of charge.
At the same time, the European Food Festival took place on the ground floor of Vientiane Center, featuring 19 food booths. Vientiane’s European restaurants offered visitors to culinary delights from 8 countries, enriching the festival experience with a delicious fusion of cinema and cuisine.
