This programme is part of the support the European Union is providing to the health sector in Lebanon, in order to strengthen the health system and to help meet the basic health needs of both Lebanese citizens and Syrian refugees. The European Union is supporting this project based on the belief that everyone in need in Lebanon should be able to access quality, affordable and accessible health services.

The project is implemented in Lebanon through a consortium of Red Cross/Red Crescent national societies from European and Middle East countries. This project is fully in line with the National Health Strategy objectives to increase access to health services for vulnerable Lebanese people as well as Syrian refugees, while strengthening healthcare institutions and enabling them to withstand the pressure caused by the increased demand on services and the scarcity of resources.
