Statement by the Delegation of the European Union and the Diplomatic Missions of EU Member States to Libya on the conclusion of the Structured Dialogue as part of the Roadmap endorsed by the UN Security Council.
The Delegation of the European Union and the Diplomatic Missions of EU Member States to Libya welcome the closing plenary meeting of the Structured Dialogue facilitated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), noting the comprehensive recommendations that have emerged from this Libyan-led and Libyan-owned process.
We commend all participants for having delivered recommendations in the four Structured Dialogue tracks through open dialogue and compromise. We extend our appreciation to Special Representative of the Secretary General H.E. Hanna Tetteh and her team.
As we enter a new phase in the UN-facilitated political Roadmap, we call on all Libyan stakeholders from across the country to engage constructively with the recommendations to set Libya on a trajectory leading to renewed institutional legitimacy and unified institutions through free and fair national elections.
The Delegation European Union and Diplomatic Missions of EU Member States to Libya reaffirm their support to UNSMIL’s mediation to pursue a stable, sovereign, unified and prosperous Libya.
