The European Union (EU)[1] is a unique economic and political union between 27 European countries It plays a vital role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organisations.  In international relations, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which play a vital role in representing the EU and its citizens around the globe and building networks and partnerships. Its main role is to represent the EU in the country where they are based and to promote the values and interests of the EU.[2]

We offer a post of Project Officer in the Operations section. Upon recruitment, the successful candidate will advise on and manage, under the supervision of the Head of Cooperation, the implementation of projects and programmes of development assistance and of financial and technical cooperation, and will be involved in the subsequent contract-management. Areas covered by the project officer: Visibility of the EU-funded Projects, Information and Communication Coordination,  Visibility events such as Europe Days, and European Visitors Programme. This job function may be adapted in accordance with the needs of the EU Delegation.

Duration: indefinite contract subject to a successful probation period of 3 months

Place of employment:  EU Delegation in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

Working hours: 37.5 hours/week.

Local Agent position: Group I.

Minimum monthly basic gross salary: 1 871 Euro

We look for motivated candidates who can demonstrate the following:

Qualifications: University level degree of legal duration of at least 3 years in the domains: journalism, communications, marketing, international relations, political science or another relevant field of studies. Experience in project management would be considered an asset

Professional experience: at least 2 years in an international organisation or multinational organisation dealing with communication, project management, preferably in the EU cooperation field.


  • Excellent PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Social media + video production would be an asset.
