Overall objective
The Action will aim at increasing NGO capacities to strengthen women’s participation in decision-making in two provinces of Mongolia and at central level in Ulaanbaatar, initially targeting rural women already grouped in CSOs involved in livestock and small-scale vegetable production by supporting wealth creating activities.
Specific objective
- At national level, IMPACT will promote a policy dialogue on gender sensitive rural economic development involving Parliament, line-Ministry, National Gender Equality Committee with MONES, Women’s groups, leaders & champions to reflect better the needs and strengths of rural women in implementation plans and policies.
- To provide uptake and hard evidences, IMPACT will more specifically work at local and provincial levels, at promoting women and girls’ role as agents of development and change in Khentii and Arkhangai.
Expected results
- Women's groups are empowered in their role in income generating activities, rural cooperatives and household financial management
- High potential agriculture value chains (organic vegetable and sustainable cashmere) are supported for economic empowerment of women's groups
- Women's groups are empowered in their dialogue capacities with Local Authorities for mutual support and conducive local policies
- A bipartisan-, women caucus-oriented advocacy campaign mainstreams gender sensitive economic development towards policy makers
