The Study in Europe Fair was organized for the first time on 3 December in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The Fair showcased study and research opportunities for short term mobility. It included up to postdoctoral programmes and individual university offerings across the European Union. Around thousand students and representatives from public as well as private universities attended the event.

Why a Study in Europe Fair? The EU and its Member States have a strong tradition of cooperation in higher education, the biggest result of which is the Erasmus Programme. To date 9 million students have benefitted.

Erasmus+ funding includes support for education and training of staff, youth workers, and partnerships between universities, colleges, schools, enterprises, and not-for-profit organizations.

Opening the Fair, EU Ambassador to Mongolia, Mr Traian Hristea noted: "Europe is a destination of choice for students, with world-class universities, higher education institutions and research institutes, offering a vast number of degrees and programmes."

The Fair does not only covered the study opportunities offered by the European Commission, it also includes individual country programmes and university offerings. Countries represented at the Fair were: Czech Republic, Germany, France and Romania.
