Art Competition: Voices of Connection
The “Voices of Connection” Art Competition invited artists across Myanmar to submit original artworks interpreting the theme “EU-Myanmar: Voices of Connection.” The competition welcomed participants of all ages living in Myanmar to express, through their art, the many connections that shape the relationship between the European Union and the people of Myanmar. The theme highlighted shared values, cultural exchange, and human connections as powerful forces that bring communities closer together. Through this initiative, the EU aims to foster creative expression and further strengthen EU-Myanmar relations through the universal language of art.
The open call, launched on 30 January 2026, received over 100 entries across a wide range of formats, including hand-drawn illustrations, paintings, digital art, mixed media, and animation. Following a careful selection process, 20 outstanding artworks were shortlisted for their thoughtful reflection of the EU-Myanmar relationship and the many voices that shape it. You can see the selected works above. They will also be featured in upcoming physical exhibitions to share with wider audiences.
The European Union warmly thanks all participants for sharing their creativity, stories, and voices. Each submission has contributed to a richer, more meaningful reflection of the enduring and endearing connection between Myanmar and the EU.
