The Delegation of the European Union to Namibia observed the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT) on Tuesday, 17 May 2022 at the Europe House in Windhoek. The day was commemorated with the hoisting of the Pride Flag, in the presence of EU-Namibia Colleagues, EU Member State Representatives present in Namibia (Finland, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain) and local LGBTQI+ community activists.

The EU Ambassador to Namibia, H.E. Sinikka Antila read out the Declaration by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union reaffirming the European Union’s strong commitment to respect, protect me fulfill the fundamental freedoms of the LGBTIQ+ persons.
