EU Film Festival/Africa Film in EU: "Meet the neighbours of the neighbours during COVID-19 time” Digital EU festival
As the current Covid-19 crisis is keeping the majority of the world’s student population out of school and confined to their own homes, this ELI initiative aims to offer them free access to a platform of opportunities to overcome the “cultural confinement” and meet the different cultures and civilisations of the “neighbours of their neighbours”, through the creative works of film directors from different countries of Africa, the Mediterranean and Europe.
This streaming platform will open up a digital window of mutual understanding and inter-cultural dialogue, giving free access to selected quality films from Africa and the Mediterranean to European students and, at the same time, free access to carefully selected European films to African and Mediterranean students from both schools and universities, directly in their homes.
The collaboration with the Cineteca of Bologna and Festival Scope guarantees both a selection of films and access to high quality streaming. Films will be presented by important personalities from the cinema world. The selected films are available on a first-come first-served basis for up to 1000 users for each film streamed, with a range of new films every week.
