EU-Namibia Cooperation Facility
The intervention focuses on capacity development within the National Planning Commission (NPC) and relevant governmental institutions to enhance their ability to plan, implement, and monitor development projects effectively. The facility also supports economic diplomacy actions, fostering trade and investment, and strengthening Namibia’s participation in global value chains, including critical raw materials and green hydrogen.
The project aims to improve capacity within the NPC and key ministries to implement NDICI and EDF-funded projects. Policy formulation and coordination mechanisms are to be strengthened to align with national and international development goals. The project will enhance policy dialogue and stakeholder engagement though increased collaboration between government entities, civil society, and the private sector in policy development and economic governance. Sectoral policy dialogues in priority areas - such as inclusive green growth, governance, education, and gender equality - will further be enforced.
Further expected outcomes include improved public awareness and strategic communication as well as trade and investment promotion through support to initiatives which improve Namibia’s business environment.
