Improving Solid Waste Management in Windhoek
© PT Embassy WHK
This project strengthens urban governance and waste management capacity in Windhoek through peer-to-peer exchanges with Bremen, Germany. It promotes recycling, re-use, and circular economy principles while addressing employment opportunities for marginalized communities.
The expected outcomes include improvement in knowledge and capacity of municipal authorities in waste management and increasing pubic awareness on recycling and waste-disposal. The establishment of two Waste Reclamation, Re-Use, and Recycling sites and a start-up incubator is foreseen. With local leadership and global partnership, the city is transforming waste into opportunity.
