"Access to education is a fundamental human right. It is vital for the personal, social and professional development of children and young people. And certainly for girls and boys growing up in the occupied Palestinian territory, where knowledge, skills and empowerment is so important to be able to thrive in the wake of the numerous difficulties they face in their daily lives. Good access to quality education is a prerequisite for promoting peace and democracy, furthering socio-economic progress and building just and successful societies. The European Union remains firmly committed to this right. We are proud to inaugurate today two schools and a community centre in the heart of Area C in the occupied Palestinian territory. The EU will continue to support the Palestinian presence in Area C which is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory and crucial for realizing the two-state solution,'' said the EU Representative SVEN KÜHN VON BURGSDORFF.
‘’Denmark works tirelessly alongside the EU and other partners to improve the opportunities for Palestinians living in Area C. With the three projects inaugurated today, we aim to strengthen the delivery of key services where needed the most. Denmark will continue to work to promote the rights of marginalized Palestinian communities’’, said the Danish Representative Ketil Karlsen.
