15-16 November: EU-Copernicus Youth Challenge, Transforming Earth Observation into action for the Asia Pacific

As part of the EU Global Gateway strategy, the European Union Delegation to the Philippines partnered with the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), and the European Space Agency (ESA), to host the EU-Copernicus Youth Challenge, an ideathon which empowers youth to turn Earth Observation insights into actionable and scalable solutions. This event is taking place on 15-16 November in Cebu in  the margins of the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF) and the 11th Asia-Pacific Space Generation Workshop (AP-SGW).

Participants from the Philippines and neighbouring Asia-Pacific countries will develop cross-cutting proposals which combine policy design with practical implementation strategies within one unified competition. Using Copernicus and CopPhil data and services, teams will address regional challenges across three tracks:

  • Climate Resilience
  • Marine and Coastal Management
  • Urban Planning and Smart Cities
