The European Union is happy to celebrate Women’s month with you!

On March 2, the EU Delegation presented the newly appointed EU Gender Champion, the Ambassador of Austria, Ms Bita Rasoulian. She was appointed by EU Heads of mission in Manila to be the EU flag bearer of gender equality in the Philippines. She will give impetus to the EU’s progressive stance on gender equality and women empowerment in the Philippines.
On March 11, the Philippine Stock Exchange, together with its board, has agreed to ‘Ring the Bell’ for Gender Equality and to sign the Women’s Empowerment Principles. It will kick off a partnership between the EU, UN Women and the Philippine Stock Exchange in working towards gender equality, in the framework of the women economic empowerment programme ‘WeEmpower Asia.’ See press release: Ring the Bell for Gender Equality at the Philippines Stock Exchange
On March 16 and 17, the EU will invite the Philippine editors and journalists in a learning workshop and conversation on Gender sensitive reporting, co-organised with the Women and Gender Institute, Miriam College. This event is postponed.
We’ll also celebrate prominent and inspiring Philippine women throughout Women’s month with the campaign #IStandWithHer endorsing female achievers
The EU stands also with UN Women in the campaign #WithHer Spotlight Initiative showcasing allies in tackling violence against women and girls. Spotlight Initiative is funded by the European Union
