Fourth Round of EU-PH FTA Negotiations held

The 4th round of negotiations on a free trade agreement (FTA) between the EU and the Philippines took place between 20 and 24 October in Cebu, Philippines. The discussions were comprehensive and constructive. They covered most topics of the envisioned agreement. The negotiators continued text-based exchanges aiming at consolidating the text.

We wish to negotiate an agreement that will both be comprehensive and ambitious. It will need to provide meaningful mutual market access and improve trade conditions between the EU and the Philippines, including by removing obstacles to digital trade and trade in energy and raw materials, thereby supporting the digital and green transitions.
