Philippines Donates 40 Portable Power Generators to Support Civilian Communities in Ukraine

Manila, 20 May 2026 – In a significant show of solidarity, the Republic of the Philippines has donated 40 portable power generators (6 kW class) to Ukraine, aimed at providing critical back-up electricity to civilian communities and essential non-military infrastructure amid ongoing energy challenges.

This humanitarian initiative follows a meeting on 11 February 2026 between Her Excellency Yuliia Fediv, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Philippines, and Senator Erwin Tulfo, Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, who generously agreed to facilitate this vital assistance. The generators, supplied by Highball Traders Inc., will be channelled via the rescEU Donations Scheme, a programme of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) designed to facilitate assistance from international donors to Ukraine, and will help stabilise power supply for hospitals, schools, and other civilian facilities affected by disruptions to Ukraine’s energy grid.

The Embassy of Ukraine in the Philippines has coordinated the documentation and logistics, with support from Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. and KLN Logistics, ensuring the smooth transportation of the equipment. The shipment will travel from the Philippines to the Port of Gdansk, Poland, where it will be received by the Governmental Strategic Reserves Agency of Poland (RARS) for onward delivery to Ukraine.

"This donation underscores the strong humanitarian partnership between our nations," said Ambassador Fediv. "These generators will provide much-needed relief to Ukrainian civilians, ensuring that essential services remain operational during power outages.", added Ambassador Santoro.

The Embassy of Ukraine extends its deepest gratitude to Senator Tulfo, Highball Traders Inc., Philippine Transmarine Carriers, KLN Logistics, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in the Philippines, and the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines for their invaluable support in making this initiative possible.

The generators are exclusively for civilian and humanitarian use, with no military or security-related application. Further updates on shipment and arrival dates will be provided once confirmed by logistics partners. Other donors wishing to support Ukraine with energy assistance are encouraged to get in touch.
