Discussion "Creative clusters during the pandemic. How does a trustful relationship with residents help to survive the crisis? Experience of Berlin and Moscow"
On 21 May at 19.00 discussion "Creative clusters during the pandemic. How does a trustful relationship with residents help to survive the crisis? Experience of Berlin and Moscow" will take place.
Creative entrepreneurs have lost 30 to 100% of their revenues due to the crisis. Many can not continue to pay their rent and are forced to either move out or negotiate with the landlord for substantial discounts on rent or even a rent deferral. How do landlords - founders of creative clusters - see this situation? How do they cope with drop in revenue, how do they pay for loans and infrastructure maintenance costs? How do the economic model of the cluster, the initial level of rental rates and the established relations with residents affect their situation?
- Daniela Brahm and Les Schliesser, artists and founders of the creative cluster ExRotaprint in Berlin
- Asya Filippova, founder and director of the Center for Creative Industries “Fabrika”
- Kristina Pestova, coordinator of “Fabrika”s Artist in Residence program
