Bombali District Council Celebrates Successful Commissioning of European Union-Funded Projects

The Bombali District Council, in partnership with the European Union, marked a significant milestone by commissioning the newly constructed Student Hostel on the University of Makeni’s Yoni Campus, a Combine Harvester and Cattle Paddock in Makarie Chiefdom.

 

The European Union Delegation Sierra Leone joined the Bombali District Council in Bombali for the successful commissioning of several amazing funded projects: a state-of-the-art Student Hostel at the University of Makeni Yoni Campus, a Combine Harvester, and a Cattle Paddock in Makari Chiefdom.

These investments, generously funded by the European Union in partnership with the Government of Sierra Leone, are set to have a considerable developmental impact on the people of Bombali and support the District Council in generating vital revenues to enable efficient public service delivery.

The EU-funded Support to Civil Society and Local Authorities for Local Development in Sierra Leone project has been a 4-year initiative promoting service delivery, infrastructural development, and capacity development. It covers 6 District Councils (Bombali, Kenema, Falaba, Kambia, Karene, and Pujehun), aiming to position local councils for internal revenue generation, driving development, and improving community lives.
