European Film Festival (EUFF) 2023 in Singapore
The European Film Festival (EUFF) returns to the big screen at independent cinema space The Projector.
Presented by the EU Delegation to Singapore, EUFF runs from 16th to 31st May bringing the best of contemporary European cinema to the heart of Singapore’s community of film lovers.
Says Iwona Piórko, EU Ambassador to Singapore: “The festival celebrates cultural diversity and cross-cultural dialogue through cinema. Cinema has the power to transport us to different worlds and open our minds to various perspectives. The European Film Festival’s continued run is a testament to the enduring power of cinema to bring people together and promote cultural exchange, even in the midst of unprecedented challenges. I hope this year’s festival will continue to inspire and enrich audiences in Singapore and beyond.”
The Featured Country this year is Sweden and opens the festival with its film Hilma on 16th May.
EUFF offers a range of movie genres including drama, historical drama, documentary, musical, comedy as well as family friendly films from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine.
The festival also champions the ideas of youth. In this context, we continue our collaboration with young Singapore filmmakers. EUFF presents student films from three schools – Lasalle College of the Arts, Puttnam School of Film and Animation, Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art, Design and Media, and Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Film & Media Studies - alongside the main festival showcase.
