Two years of implementation of the EU-Singapore FTA: Webinar

This webinar on 17 March 2022 (4-5.30pm SGT/9-10.30am CET), looks at some of the key successes of the EUSFTA in enabling and facilitating trade and investment between the EU and Singapore. Representatives from the EU, Singapore Government and businesses from both sides will share insights and perspectives on trade between the EU and Singapore, discuss some of the highlights and areas in which the EUSFTA has achieved benefits for both EU and Singapore businesses, and reflect on prospects for progressive cooperation.

The landmark EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA) came into force more than two years ago, on 21 November 2019, providing a comprehensive framework for EU-Singapore economic and trade relations. The EUSFTA enhances market access for companies doing business between the EU and Singapore, addressing a wide range of trade and investment related matters in areas such as trade in goods and services, government procurement, intellectual property rights, customs, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, and trade and sustainable development. In December 2021, the First EU-Singapore Trade Committee took place in Brussels to review the implementation of the EUSFTA and discuss new areas of cooperation, notably with a view to advancing towards a comprehensive EU-Singapore digital partnership.
