2025 11th EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL - Stories for Challenging Times

The 11th European Film Festival (co-hosted by the Council of European Union National Cultural Centers and the Seoul Museum of History, and jointly by the Delegation of the European Union to Korea) will be held at the Yajugae Hall of the Seoul Museum of History.

The 2025 festival  will screen 22 European films under the theme "Stories for Challenging Times ." Amidst the diverse challenges we face, including climate change, international instability, and economic and social pressures, films from various European countries are reexamining the meaning of humanity, society, and solidarity. This selection will illuminate how communities respond to and overcome these challenges, offering audiences a fresh perspective and an opportunity for reflection. Furthermore, viewers will experience the human resilience and hope that blossom within these films.

Beginning with the opening film, Finland's "Falling Leaves," embassies and cultural centers from 22 countries—Spain, Ireland, Estonia, Portugal, Sweden, Czech Republic, Hungary, the United Kingdom, Slovakia, Poland, Denmark, Latvia, Austria, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, France, Belgium, Lithuania, Germany, and Romania—will participate, showcasing films of various genres from each country. All films can be viewed free of charge at the Seoul Museum of History, and prior to the screenings, there will be a special time for ambassadors, directors, critics, and other experts from each country to introduce the films.

We hope for your interest and participation in this film festival, which will reflect on our times through European perspectives.
