The EU Delegation and the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Korea co-host an Exhibition Marking Four Years of Russia’s Full-Scale War of Aggression Against Ukraine
Seoul, February 24, 2026 - The Delegation of the European Union (EU) and the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Korea, with the support of Seocho-gu Office, will present an exhibition marking four years since Russia’s full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine.
The exhibition will be opened on 24 February by the EU Ambassador Ugo Astuto, the Ukrainian Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Andrii Vieshkin and the Mayor of Seocho-gu, Sung-so Jun.
Lasting from 24 February to 11 March, at the lobby of Seocho-gu Office in Seoul, the exhibition will showcase photographs and artworks created by Ukrainian artists who have documented the devastating impact of the war — death, displacement and loss, infrastructure destruction — while capturing the extraordinary resilience and dignity of the Ukrainian people.
Over the past four years, Ukraine has endured immense suffering. Yet, also through art and visual storytelling, Ukrainians continue to preserve their identity and to affirm their determination in defending their democratic rights and freedom. This exhibition aims to raise awareness about the profound consequences of Russia’s aggression and the enduring strength of Ukrainian society.
The exhibition forms part of a broader series of solidarity actions organized globally by the European Union to reaffirm its unwavering support for Ukraine. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war of aggression, the European Union and its Member States have mobilized unprecedented support for Ukraine — including financial assistance, humanitarian aid, economic support, military assistance, and reconstruction efforts.

EU Ambassador to RoK, Ugo Astuto, stated, “We want peace in Ukraine, and we want this peace to last. Peace must be just, durable, credible and consistent with international law. The European Union’s support for Ukraine remains unwavering. Through this exhibition, the EU reaffirms its solidarity. We stand with Ukraine. The photographs and artworks presented in this exhibition portray not only moments of pain, loss and exhaustion but also the strength and resilience that emerge in the hardest circumstances.”
Andrii Vieshkin, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of Ukraine in the RoK, also commented, “Four years of resistance have taught us that freedom is never free. It is a choice made every single day. The exhibition represents Ukraine’s pain but also radiates our refusal to be broken. Ukraine and Korea are separated by thousands of kilometers, but we are united by a shared history of overcoming hardship and a shared belief in the sanctity of sovereignty. We are deeply grateful for the EU’s leadership. Together, we are defending the very principles of international law that keep the entire world safe.”
Seocho-gu Mayor, Sung-soo Jun, added, “This exhibition is dedicated to remembering the horrors of war and expressing the hope that such tragedies will never be repeated. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims. Peace is never something to be taken for granted, but a precious value that we must safeguard together.”
The EU remains committed to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its European future.
