EU Delegation to Korea hosts High-Level Forum on Clean Energy Technology
SEOUL, 19 May 2026 – On Tuesday, 19 May 2026, the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea, through its EU-Korea Green Partnership Programme (GPP) and the EU Business Hub Programme, successfully hosted the "EU-Korea Clean Energy Technology Forum" at COEX, Seoul. The forum was organised in parallel with ENVEX 2026, where a business mission of approximately forty EU companies involved in green industry participated.

Ms. Kerstin Jorna, Director-General for Internal Market, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) at the European Commission, opened the high-level sessions with a keynote speech on the EU's policy frameworks on green transition of industry to boost competitiveness and decarbonisation. The forum convened policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to explore how clean energy technologies are driving industrial competitiveness.

The discussions provided an overview of EU and Korea's policy frameworks which act as catalysts for innovation and investment. Participants explored concrete actions to turn decarbonisation into a driver of growth, ensuring a secure and resilient energy system while addressing global climate challenges.
The forum featured a high-level discussion with the industry leaders on collaboration opportunities in green energy transformation with Director General Kerstin Jorna and representatives from the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ECCK) and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). The following discussion on practical steps for green transformation featured the embassies of Spain and Germany sharing their respective green transition journeys, alongside local Korean experts highlighting on-the-ground challenges and opportunities for mutual collaboration.
