[Interview] 'S. Korea, EU gear up for leaders' summit, seeking stronger trade & economic partnership' Maroš Šefčovič, EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security

17 April 2026, Seoul - "We want to push our (EU-RoK) cooperation up to another level, to be working on a strategic partnership. We can focus even more in the field of economic security. In this turbulent world, you have to work with the partners, friends with the same value sets who believes in predictability rules-based trade. I'm glad that we found such a partner in Korea." said Maroš Šefčovič, EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, during his visit to the Republic of Korea in light of the 13th EU-Republic of Korea FTA Trade Committee and the 1st Strategic Dialogue on Trade, Supply Chains and Technology with Korean Minister for Trade Yeo Han-koo.
