The Cultural Relations Platform (CRP) is looking for experts in culture and cultural relations for short-term assignments for an activity in Sri Lanka.

Background

The Cultural Relations Platform is a project funded by the Partnership Instrument (Service for Foreign Policy Instruments, European Commission) launched in April 2020 to support the European Union to engage in international cultural relations within the framework of the EU strategy for international cultural relations. The CRP follows up on the previous Cultural Diplomacy Platform, CDP (2016-2020). It provides a renewed approach based on a set of shared principles and new activities, aiming to promote and facilitate sustainable cultural exchanges, people-to-people activities and co-creation processes between Europeans and citizens from countries all over the world.

Call for experts

The Cultural Relations Platform is opening a call for cultural experts to be mobilised for short-term assignments starting in December 2021, and being implemented in 2022.

For its activity in Sri Lanka, the Platform is looking for a researcher or cultural manager with knowledge of fashion, design and handloom sectors. The expert will be conducting diverse activities including mapping, matchmaking, network development and facilitation.

Profile of the experts

Senior expert

  • Minimum 5 years of post-graduate professional experience in cultural and creative industries and sectors, creative economy,
  • Knowledge of fashion, design and handloom sectors in Sri Lanka,
  • Knowledge about international cultural relations and cultural diplomacy is an advantage,
  • Knowledge of EU-initiated policies, programmes and initiatives supporting cultural relations/exchanges between the EU and third countries is an asset,
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, analytical research, and reporting,
  • Demonstrated experience in research coordination, monitoring and evaluating activities and projects,
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in English,
  • Excellent skills in official Sri Lankan languages.

Junior expert

  • Minimum 3 years of post-graduate professional experience in cultural and creative industries and sectors, creative economy,
