Children’s Art Competition: Art for Peace - Winners announced!

As part of the celebrations of the Europe Day, scheduled for 9 May, the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Sri Lanka and the Maldives invited young artists to participate in an online children’s art competition titled ‘Art for Peace’. Submission period is closed now. Winners Announced!

  Winner in the age category 1 (6-8 years): Sithula Delpa Godage

What?

Art competition was focused on the theme of peace.

Where?

The competition was held online.

When?
  • Launch of competition: 1 April 2022
  • Deadline for submissions: 28 April 2022
Who?

Children who are 6 to 15 years, by 28 April 2022, from Sri Lanka or the Maldives, under three age categories:

  • Category 1: 6-8 years
  • Category 2: 9-11 years
  • Category 3: 12-15 years

All valid entries will receive a certificate of participation. The best entry in each category will be awarded exciting prizes including art supplies.

Contestants could submit only one entry of original, unassisted, hand-drawn artwork, created without using digital tools.

Rules of competition:

The single, unassisted, hand-drawn artwork, created without using digital tools should be photographed/ scanned and emailed as a JPEG file (File size: 1 MB to 10 MB) to artforpeacecontest@gmail.com, with the personal details listed below.

Personal details to include in email submission:

  1. Name
  2. Birthday
  3. Citizenship
  4. Country
  5. Residential address
  6. Contact phone number of parent/ guardian

Entries complete with all details listed above, should be received no later than 28 April 2022

Entries that do not comply with the rules of the competition and submission requirements will not be entertained.

Other details:

The EU and its partners may publicise artworks received (along with the names of  participants) through social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and other mediums of publicity.

Copyright of the submitted artwork will be with the EU for a period of three months from the closing date for submissions of the competition.

In the event of any dispute regarding the competition, the final decision of the EU shall be binding and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.

By entering this contest, applicants and their parents/ guardians agree to the Rules of the ‘Art for Peace’ Children’s Art Competition.

If you are selected as a finalist and/or winner of the contest, it may be necessary for the Administrators of the Competition to collect additional information specific to the event.
