The EU Delegation on behalf of EU Member States diplomatic missions in Turkey wishes to pay tribute to the outstanding lawyer and human rights defender TAHİR ELÇİ on the first anniversary of his killing last year. Elçi's legacy and his invaluable works on topics such as impunity, peace and reconciliation will never be forgotten.

 

While remembering him on this sad day, we would like to express our expectations for a thorough, independent and transparent investigation into his tragic demise and for the necessity of bringing those responsible to justice.
