Establishment of a Common Use Facility (Furniture and Auto Mechanics) and Small Business

20.12.2022

A state-of-the-art common-use facility, accessible to SMEs across various sectors, has been established in the Amasya Small Industrial Site. The facility is equipped with advanced automotive troubleshooting, repair and maintenance devices, as well as fully equipped workshops for all aspects of woodwork, from design to production. Additionally, it will serve as a training centre.

Designed to foster collaboration, the facility supports joint efforts in raw material supply and product marketing while also providing consulting and training services for SMEs. Within the service unit, producers can transform their basic furniture designs into computer-assisted drawings, digitizing hand-drawn designs to maintain quality standards. This process has led to a 25-30% increase in product diversity through expanded colour and design options.

The common-use facility operates on the principle of equal access for all businesses, implementing a single-price policy to ensure fair competition. Unfair competition is avoided, and thanks to the user rotation system, equal opportunity is ensured for all businesses to use the facility.

This facility is expected to significantly contribute to the growth of Amasya’s furniture sector by improving production methods, expanding design diversity, enhancing branding, and raising product quality standards—all while boosting employment.

Amasya is home to nearly 400 businesses in the wood, wooden products, furniture, and automotive industries. These sectors are continuously evolving, leveraging modern technology to adapt and grow. The primary goal for SMEs in these industries is to adopt new technologies and accelerate production efficiency, strengthening their competitive edge in the market.
