EUROPEAN UNION-TURKEY YOUTH FORUM TACKLES CHALLENGES OF THE DIGITAL ERA

The EU-Türkiye Youth Forum, themed "Critical Thinking for the Digital Age," organized by the EU Info Centres Network, was held in Antalya on March 25-26, 2024.

The forum witnessed the participation of 200 young university students from various regions of Türkiye gathering in Antalya for insightful discussions, workshops and panels centered on addressing the challenges and opportunities posed by the digital landscape, with a particular focus on combating disinformation.

Highlighting the event was a panel discussion on "Critical Thinking in a World of Information Overload," which included prominent figures such as journalist Özlem Gürses, Faruk Bildirici, psychologist Beyhan Budak, author Yalın Alpay and academicians Tirşe Erbaysal Filibeli and Lale Dündar.

Attendees had the opportunity to participate in a disinformation simulation led by Katarzyna Sumislawska from the European Union External Actions Service, gaining hands-on experience in understanding and combating the proliferation of disinformation.

Throughout the event, live audience polls and interactive Q&A sessions were conducted inspiring proactive engagement among the youth.

The EU-Türkiye Youth Forum concluded with success, equipping young participants with valuable insights and tools to navigate the complexities of the digital age and promoting a culture of critical thinking.
